As one of the minority here who can actually speak to 'hippie' ideals, I've no idea what he's talking about. Give an old hippy your average sunny ambient album and a fat doob and he's not going to turn dark on you. Blissout & Chillout were what hippies did best. I think people need the dark stuff as an anodyne to the sunny stuff.
